The Development goal in this cooperation is: “Strengthen the self-help abilities of the rural population of Nepal to improve it's living conditions by increasing and diversifying food production, income opportunities and basic livelihood facilities in a sustainable, environmentally-friendly and participatory, self-determined way.” To contribute to the priority area, DED Nepal focuses on working with membership based civil society organizations working towards participation and inclusion of citizens without any kind of discrimination in order to achieve local democracy.

One of DED’s partners is the NGO FECOFUN (Kaski/Parbat). The intended direct benefit of this cooperation is to increase the economic and ecological sustainability of community forests and to improve FECOFUN services towards its members as well as the general enabling of participatory decision making within Forest User Groups.
